How to distinguish IBS or IBS-D from other GI disorders
IBS-D is no more than a collection of different conditions rather than a single separate entity
(see chart). Physicians frequently use this term as a catch-all or “wastebasket” diagnosis when an answer cannot be given to the patient.
Physicians should pursue further work-up on their patients and stop only when a definite clinical entity is identified and treated satisfactorily. Dr. Habba will not stop short of an accurate diagnosis, and will conduct all the necessary medical tests and exams to determine your specific GI disorder and its cause. These include:
- Acid reflux, GERD
- Dyspepsia/indigestion
- Peptic ulcer disease
- Abdominal pain syndrome
- Gallstone pancreatitis
- Crohn’s disease
- Leaky gut syndrome
- Ulcerative colitis
- Biliary tract disorders, gallbladder disorders such as Habba Syndrome
